Is Kevin Cannon ok?
The guy who recently stormed out of a meeting after inciting residents to take action against other residents, and has spent the better part of two years lying about issues related to the water system, has now designated his home as a construction site and then posted a sign that reads as follows:
“POSTED–NO TRESPASSING–THIS AREA IS A DESIGNATED CONSTRUCTION SITE, AND ANYONE WHO TRESPASSES ON THIS PROPERTY COMMITS A FELONY. PROPERTY OWNER KEVIN CANNON”
Our quick research showed that trespassing under normal circumstances is a misdemeanor. But if you get your property designated as a construction site, now trespassing is a felony.
Here are some things that are not weird:
- Getting a construction permit
- Putting up a no trespassing sign (like the cute ones that warn against politics, solicitation and religion)
Here is something that is definitely weird: Announcing your kitchen remodel by threatening your neighbors with a felony in font large enough to be read from the moon.
It’s not something you see every day, and makes us wonder: is our AWOL commissioner doing ok? We’d suggest someone check on him, but that might lead to a felony.
Sounds like he thinks he’s special. Who cares if he remodels his kitchen? Obviously, he fears retribution over his actions or he wouldn’t use this to keep people away. Winter Springs needs new governing, no doubt. Let’s hope it starts sooner than later!
